A motorcyclist died Tuesday after colliding with a dump truck on East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast, just north of Interstate 90, Issaquah police reported.
The 44-year-old Seattle man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A dump truck was turning from 229th Avenue Southeast at about 7:40 a.m. when the motorcycle driver collided with it. A signal controls the intersection and police were investigating what caused the crash, Issaquah police Cmdr. Stan Conrad said.
Police closed off access to 229th Avenue, which leads to a nearby concrete plant, and reduced traffic to one lane in each direction on East Lake Sammamish Parkway for the investigation, he said.

The accident took place about 7:40 a.m. at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and 229th Avenue Southeast, north of Interstate 90.
Witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling north on East Lake Sammamish Parkway and the dump truck was pulling into the intersection from 229th Avenue Southeast when the motorcycle struck the dump truck. The motorcyclist died at the scene, Conrad said. The truck driver was not injured.
Traffic was reduced to one lane in each direction on East Lake Sammamish Parkway, a main north-and-south route leading to the Sammamish Plateau.
The motorcyclist who died Tuesday after colliding with a dump truck in Issaquah has been identified as Jeffery Steven Franklund, the King County Medical Examiner reported.
Issaquah police identified Franklund, 43, as a Seattle resident. About 7:40 a.m., a dump truck was turning from 229th Avenue Southeast to East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast when it struck the motorcycle.
Franklund died from head injuries, and his death has been ruled an accident, a medical examiner spokesman said. The accident occurred just north of Interstate 90.
