View from hostel #2

More drab pictures. The sidewalks are ashpalt rather than concrete. More an unfortunate design decision than anything else.

There were no bicycles in Moscow. A pity, because it's so flat, and the city is so huge (9 million) that a bicycle would be a good way to get around at least your corner of it. I asked my friends why, and they said it's because it's too dangerous --- the curbs are high, there are puddles everywhere, and the drivers aren't used to looking out for bikes. In St Pete I saw a few bicycles, but very few, and they were all old.
