Portobello Road #4

By the time I was there, this sign was a bit of an anachronism, because IRA bombs hadn't gone off for a while.

Still, one vestige remained: you couldn't find a garbage can hardly anywhere in the city. So you had to be creative with your trash.

Exactly a year after I left, there was the trio of nail bomb attacks. But this time it wasn't the IRA.
